Gundica Marjana - Saturday 10th July 2010
Meeting at the temple at 10:00am
The day before Ratha-yatra is celebrated as Gundica-marjana, the cleansing of the Gundica temple. At Jagannatha Puri, days before the Ratha-yatra celebration, devotees thoroughly wash the Gundica temple located three kilometers northeast of the Jagannatha temple. This is where the Lord Jagannatha stays for one week at the time of the Ratha-yatra celebrations.
Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu would personally clean the Gundica temple along with hundreds of devotees. The Lord did this just to instruct others. While He cleaned the temple in great jubilation, He chanted the Hare Krishna mantra. When the Gundica temple was thoroughly cleansed, it became very purified, cool and pleasing, just as if the Lord’s own mind appeared there. Indeed, after everything had been washed, the minds of the devotees were as clean as the rooms.
By enacting this pastime of cleaning the Gundica temple, Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu instructed us on how we should receive Lord Krishna within our heart. If we desire to see Krishna seated within our hearts, we must first of all purify our hearts fully and prepare to receive His lotus feet.
At New Govardhana the main temple shall be completely cleaned by the devotees. Men, women and children can all participate with great enthusiasm, preparing with great hope, to receive the Lord into their hearts by cleaning the Lord’s temple.
On Saturday 10th July lets all chant the holy names of the Lord, sing and in great jubilation perform Gundica-marjana.

Amala Kirtana (The Yoga Bliss Tour) - Saturday 24th of July
UPDATE: The kirtan concert below at New Govardhana is actually going to start at 3pm instead of 5pm as presented on the poster.

An Opportunity to Help our Sunday Feast Cooks in a Big Way ...
Due to the increased number of guests and devotees attending the Sunday feast it is becoming more difficult for the cooks to produce large amounts of prasadam (food offered to the Lord).
To fix this problem we can easily fit the kitchen with a piece of equipment known as a BRATT PAN. This is an ingenius piece of equipment that can cook halava, subjis, rice, gelabis, sauces, laddus, sweet rice, pastas, boil anything and a lot more in a very short time. For example, it can cook spinach for 300 people in 5 minutes because the bottom of the pan is 120 cm x 90 cm. This is a very large surface area compared to the surface area of our largest pots.
The bratt pan will cook 120 litres at once whereas currently we are using massive 60 and 80 litre pots with burners that can’t really cope with the demand.
Once cooking is completed, the tray tilts and pours into buckets and tubs for serving. Another great advantage of the BRATT PAN is its ability to cook quickly, evenly and without mashing the vegetables, keeping its appearance fresh and whole.
Here are a couple of pictures of the beast with technical data below:

- Gas Bratt Pan
- 120 Litre Pan Capacity
- 12 mm thick stainless steel even heat base
- Auto ignition and Flame Failure Standard
- Electronic Thermostat Temperature control 50°C - 320°C
- Heavy duty spring balanced hinged lid
- Cold Water Connection
- Power 240/50/1+N+E; 10 amps
- 9001200 x 805 x 900mm(h); 280 kg
- WARRANTY: 12 months Parts & Labour
So the bottom line to serve all the assembled vaishnavas and guests is $12,695.
Your full or partial help with this project would not only be very much appreciated by the community at large but would also be long lasting with such a wonderful activity as distributing Krshna’s mercy in the form of prasadam to all.
Donations can be made on our website www.krishnafarm.com using the Paypal button on the left of the page, to Ajita or Gokula or by direct deposit into ISKCON NG BSB 034063 Account 136592. Please make a reference along with your payment to indicate that the donation is for the bratt pan.
We shall keep everyone informed of the progress.
I thank you for your time reading this,
On behalf of the New Govardhana community
